1. Regular Cleaning: Dust tends to accumulate on racks during use. Wipe away dust with a clean cloth; do not wash them with water, as water can cause oxidation and compromise the rack's integrity.
2. Neat Arrangement: Arrange products neatly on the racks. Ensure that aisles remain unobstructed and are not blocked by stacked pipes, cables, or other items.
3. Weather Considerations: During humid weather, keep warehouse doors and windows closed as much as possible to minimize the entry of moist air and reduce the risk of moisture damage. If possible, use a dehumidifier to control humidity levels. Alternatively, place desiccant packs in the warehouse. If racks do get damp, wipe them dry immediately to prevent rust-paying special attention to connection points, which are particularly prone to rusting.
4. Safety Inspections: Adhere to operational guidelines when using warehouse racks. Arrange goods according to the rack's load-bearing capacity: place heavy items on lower levels and lighter items on upper levels; never place heavy loads at the top while leaving the bottom light (top-heavy loading). Avoid impacts; handle goods gently. Regularly inspect the dimensions and types of stored goods, verify that the configuration matches the original specifications, and check for any structural deformation. If forklifts are used for loading and unloading, installing collision barriers or bollards is recommended to minimize the risk of collisions between forklifts and the racking.
